Air India Launches Campaign Celebrating India’s Bold New Spirit

GURUGRAM- The Tata Group-owned Indian Full-Service Carrier, Air India (AI), has introduced its newest brand campaign titled ‘There is an Air About India’, honoring the spirit of contemporary India.

This campaign was launched through a digital film and a multimedia rollout, which includes out-of-home (OOH) media, print, and various digital formats.

The campaign serves as a vibrant celebration of the nation’s energy and ambition, highlighting India’s cultural richness from the skies. It embodies Air India’s commitment to spread this spirit globally from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), Delhi.

Produced in collaboration with McCann, the digital film stands out as the campaign’s centerpiece, with a rap-style soundtrack composed by Sneha Khanwalkar.

The lyrics, delivered by emerging rap artist Aarya Jadhao, synergize with the film’s dynamic visuals, showcasing both traditional and contemporary India.

Scenes transition from spiritual rituals and folk performances to modern cityscapes and technological innovations, reflecting India’s evolution.

The film’s emphatic refrain, “There is an Air about India,” positions Air India (AI) as not merely a carrier of passengers but also as a custodian of India’s cultural identity and expanding global presence.

With rhythmic transitions and energetic editing, the campaign underscores India’s transformation into a bold, confident, and joyous nation—qualities Air India seeks to embody in every flight from hubs such as Mumbai (BOM), Bengaluru (BLR), and Hyderabad (HYD).

Since its return to the Tata Group in 2022, Air India has embarked on Vihaan.AI, a five-year transformation initiative aimed at redefining the airline as a world-class global carrier.

This campaign aims to reinforce the airline’s revitalized identity and dedication to excellence.

Key enhancements under this initiative include:

  • An order for 570 new aircraft.
  • A $400 million retrofit program for the existing fleet.
  • The establishment of South Asia’s largest aviation training academy.
  • Construction of a modern Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
  • Creation of a new flying school to train future aviators.

These substantial investments enable Air India to meet the demands of India’s rapidly expanding aviation sector, which recorded over 350 million passengers last year and now features twice as many airports as a decade ago.
