ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) is expanding its Seattle operations with the launch of new nonstop flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Barcelona (BCN) and Rome (FCO), in addition to introducing two new premium lounges. These initiatives reinforce Delta’s leadership in Seattle’s air travel market.

As part of this expansion, Delta will offer priority gate access, sustainable innovations, and dining options inspired by local flavors, providing travelers with enhanced experiences. This commitment showcases Delta’s focus on premium service and regional connectivity.

Delta Air Lines is further establishing its footprint at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) through daily nonstop flights to Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and Rome-Fiumicino Airport (FCO), set to begin in May 2026.

The new routes will be operated using the state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo, catering to travelers seeking iconic European destinations. Delta One cabins will feature lie-flat seating, privacy doors, and curated gourmet options, while Delta Premium Select offers enhanced comfort and amenities for long-haul flights.

Over the past decade, Delta has added 28 new routes from Seattle, now serving over 60 global destinations with approximately 180 peak-day departures. Strategic partnerships broaden access to countless additional cities throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America, affirming Seattle’s status as a critical international hub.

The airline has gained priority access to 18 gates across Concourses A and B at SEA, enhancing operational efficiency and improving passenger flow from check-in to boarding.

According to Port of Seattle Commissioner Fred Felleman, these enhancements strengthen both cultural and economic connections, providing benefits to travelers and the local community.

Premium Lounge Experiences in Seattle

Delta is enhancing the travel experience with the debut of two new lounges at SEA: a spacious 24,000-square-foot Delta One Lounge and a Delta Sky Club, conveniently located across from Gate A11.

The Delta One Lounge boasts 149 indoor seats and 72 on a scenic terrace overlooking Mt. Rainier. The Delta Sky Club holds 183 guests and features expansive windows that showcase the breathtaking natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

These facilities mark the fourth Delta One Lounge and the third new Delta Sky Club within Delta’s network, bringing the total to 57 lounges globally.

The lounges are designed to reflect Seattle’s character, featuring stone finishes, wood detailing, and a color scheme of emerald, navy, and rust. Local artwork, such as Pam Kueny Taylor’s “Time to Migrate,” enhances the cultural experience.

Delta places a strong emphasis on sustainability, incorporating smart windows, all-electric energy sources, and reusable dinnerware to create an eco-friendly environment.

Passengers flying in Delta One also enjoy concierge-style check-in and access to TSA PreCheck Touchless ID for quicker security clearance, with plans to extend this service to all Delta hubs by the end of the year.

Culinary Excellence

The Delta One Lounge features a Seattle-inspired fine dining experience with an open kitchen serving dishes like Dungeness crab cannelloni, wood-fired teriyaki steelhead, and a Rainier cherry sundae.

Breakfast options include Dungeness crab benedict and Dutch baby pancakes topped with cherry compote, while beverages showcase local favorites such as Caffe Umbria coffee and a selection of West Coast wines.

The Delta Sky Club offers seasonal highlights, including Ivar’s clam chowder, lemon chicken, and marionberry crumble, all complemented by Starbucks coffee.

Both lounges provide a variety of premium cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Sustainability in Focus

Delta’s Seattle hub prioritizes eco-friendly initiatives, with 87% of its CORE fleet and 70% of ground support equipment at SEA now operating on electric power.

For its commitment to sustainability, the Port of Seattle honored Delta with a Sustainable Century Award, recognizing the airline for operating the highest proportion of fuel-efficient aircraft at SEA.

The lounges are designed with sustainability in mind, featuring motion-sensing lights and energy-efficient windows, minimizing environmental impact while maintaining a premium atmosphere.

Delta’s 2,700 employees in Washington state foster partnerships with local companies like Starbucks and T-Mobile, as well as sponsoring the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders FC, highlighting Delta’s dedication to community engagement and economic development in the area.
