Air India Launches Campaign Celebrating India’s Bold New Spirit

GURUGRAM – Tata Group-owned Indian Full-Service Carrier, Air India (AI), has unveiled its latest brand campaign titled ‘There is an Air About India’, which celebrates the spirit of contemporary India.

This campaign was launched through an engaging digital film and a multimedia strategy that includes out-of-home (OOH) advertising, as well as print and digital platforms.

The campaign is a lively tribute to the nation’s dynamism and aspirations, highlighting India’s cultural diversity seen from the skies. It encapsulates Air India’s goal of conveying this spirit around the world, starting from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), Delhi.

In collaboration with McCann, the digital film stands out as the centerpiece of the campaign, featuring a rap-style soundtrack created by Sneha Khanwalkar.

The lyrics, delivered by emerging rap artist Aarya Jadhao, complement the vibrant visuals of the film, capturing the essence of both traditional and modern India.

Scenes portray a variety of aspects, from spiritual ceremonies and folk dances to contemporary urban landscapes and technological innovations, illustrating India’s journey of growth.

The film’s impactful refrain, “There is an Air about India,” positions Air India (AI) as more than just a transport service, but as a voice for India’s cultural identity and its expanding global footprint.

With rhythmic transitions and dynamic editing, the film mirrors India’s evolution into a bold, confident, and joyful nation—characteristics that Air India strives to embody in every journey from hubs such as Mumbai (BOM), Bengaluru (BLR), and Hyderabad (HYD).

Transformation Under Tata

Since rejoining the Tata Group in 2022, Air India has embarked on Vihaan.AI, a five-year transformation strategy aimed at remaking the airline into a premier global carrier.

This campaign bolsters that mission by reinforcing the airline’s refreshed identity and dedication to quality.

Significant enhancements under this initiative include:

  • An order for 570 new aircraft.
  • A $400 million retrofit initiative for the existing fleet.
  • Establishment of South Asia’s largest aviation training academy.
  • Creation of a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
  • Launch of a new flying school to train upcoming pilots.

These substantial investments position Air India to cater to the demands of India’s swiftly expanding aviation market, which welcomed over 350 million passengers last year and currently boasts twice as many airports as it did a decade ago.
