Tata Group-owned Air India has embarked on a comprehensive transformation journey over the past three years, placing orders for 570 new aircraft. CEO Campbell Wilson emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and fleet quality during a recent IATA meeting in New Delhi.

Wilson noted, “This is a transformative time for India and for Air India.” Despite previous struggles and lack of investments, the airline has successfully revitalized its partnerships.

Three years ago, Air India lacked active interline partnerships with any Star Alliance carriers. However, thanks to its renewed focus on customer experience and fleet expansion, it has now established interline agreements with all Star Alliance members.

The CEO elaborated on the operational strategies, stating, “With our commitment to customer experience and fleet quality, we have developed codeshare partnerships with nearly all Star Alliance carriers, allowing for seamless travel experiences for our passengers.”

The airline currently operates to 112 destinations with a fleet comprising 191 planes, including 64 wide-body and 127 narrow-body aircraft.
