Airline Forecasts 2025

IATA has updated its predictions, signaling challenges ahead for the aviation sector due to ongoing global economic issues.

Airlines have adjusted their forecasts for traffic and profit projections in 2025 as they navigate through economic “headwinds.”

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) now estimates that fewer than five billion air journeys will be made in the current year, a decrease from a previous estimate of 5.22 billion.

“Considering the headwinds, it’s a strong result that demonstrates the resilience that airlines have worked hard to fortify,” said Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General, during his address at the annual general meeting in New Delhi.
