DUBAI- Emirates Airlines (EK) has marked a significant milestone with the successful landing of its Airbus A350 at Queen Alia International Airport (ADJ), officially launching its second daily flight connecting Dubai and Amman.
This deployment occurred two weeks earlier than the initially scheduled June 1 date, showcasing Emirates’ dedication to improving service on this vital route.
Here’s the Flight Schedule:
- Flight EK 905 departed from Dubai at 2210 hours on May 19 and landed in Amman at 0015 hours on the morning of May 20.
- The return flight, EK 906, left Amman at 0205 hours and arrived in Dubai at 0605 hours the same day.
This successful inaugural round-trip signifies the initiation of regular A350 service between these two cities.
The three-class Emirates A350 accommodates 312 passengers and features a thoughtfully designed cabin layout. Business Class offers 32 next-generation lie-flat seats organized in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for all premium passengers.
The aircraft is also equipped with 21 Premium Economy seats arranged in a 2-3-2 layout and 259 Economy Class seats configured in a 3-3-3 arrangement.
Designed for passenger comfort, the A350 enhances the travel experience with higher ceilings, wider aisles, and a notably quieter cabin environment compared to previous generations of planes. This innovative design significantly minimizes noise fatigue during flights.
All cabin classes benefit from Emirates’ advanced in-flight entertainment systems that provide a cinematic entertainment experience. Additionally, the aircraft features improved cabin lighting, faster Wi-Fi connectivity, and ergonomic seat designs tailored for long-haul comfort.
Strategic Importance for Emirates and Jordan
The introduction of the A350 on the Amman route is a pivotal moment in Emirates’ 39-year relationship with Jordan, which started in 1986.
This deployment highlights the airline’s continuous investment in the Jordanian market, enhancing connectivity, tourism prospects, and trade links between Dubai, Amman, and other destinations.
Emirates now operates two premium aircraft types to Amman, with the renowned A380 superjumbo already servicing the route on flights EK903 and EK904.
The Emirates A350 currently services six additional short and medium-haul destinations, including Edinburgh, Kuwait, and Mumbai. The airline intends to expand the A350 service to more cities, such as Oslo, Istanbul, and Ho Chi Minh City, in the coming months. By year-end, Emirates will operate to 17 global destinations with its A350 fleet.
This strategic rollout of new aircraft throughout the network demonstrates Emirates’ ongoing fleet modernization efforts and its commitment to providing improved travel experiences across its international routes.
