BALI, November 29, 2024:
FL Technics Indonesia (PT Avia Technics Dirgantara), a subsidiary of the global leader in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), FL Technics, proudly announces the opening of its new state-of-the-art 17,000-square-meter MRO facility in Bali. This facility is strategically positioned at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) to meet the increasing MRO requirements for narrowbody aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region, specifically catering to Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. The grand opening event was attended by prominent figures from the aviation industry, government officials, and representatives from FL Technics’ parent company, Avia Solutions Group, to celebrate this significant achievement.
“This facility symbolizes our dedication to supporting aviation growth in Asia and Australia. It enables airlines to maintain the utmost standards of safety and efficiency,” stated Zilvinas Lapinskas, Chief Executive Officer of FL Technics Group. “These three hangars signify a remarkable advancement for the region and our organization, opening doors for progress in businesses and communities throughout Asia, Australia, and beyond.”
The newly established six-bay maintenance hub is meticulously designed to accommodate both classic and next-generation models of the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families, inclusive of current and upcoming engine options. With an aim to address the rising demand within the region for these aircraft models, the facility is outfitted with specialized production shops and administrative offices, thereby generating over 500 new employment opportunities for the local community. FL Technics Indonesia operates under Part-145 AMO certifications granted by the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation, with plans to secure CASA, FAA, and EASA certifications in the forthcoming months.
“This expansion is timely for the growing Asian aviation market,” remarked Martynas Grigas, CEO of FL Technics Indonesia. “With our sophisticated infrastructure and the collaboration of other companies within the Avia Solutions Group, such as BBN Airlines Indonesia, SkyTrans, and Thai SmartLynx, we are set to enhance supply chains, promote growth, and offer support to airlines throughout the region and beyond.”
FL Technics’ new Bali facility enhances its extensive MRO network, which also includes maintenance operations in Lithuania (at Vilnius and Kaunas International Airports), the UK (Prestwick International Airport), Indonesia (Jakarta International Airport), and an upcoming facility in the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana International Airport).
