flydubai adds additional European destinations to network

Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has revealed plans to broaden its reach in Europe by introducing flights to four additional cities. The new routes, which will connect destinations in Romania, Latvia, and Lithuania, are set to commence in September 2025.

On May 29, 2025, flydubai confirmed the launch of flights connecting Dubai with Iași and Chișinău in Romania beginning September 2025, followed by service to Vilnius in Lithuania and Riga in Latvia in December 2025. This expansion will enhance the airline’s global network, reaching over 135 destinations in 58 countries, and extending its European footprint to 35 destinations across 20 nations.

For three of the newly announced destinations (excluding Chișinău), flydubai will be the first airline from the UAE to offer direct services from Dubai. The airline began its operations in Romania in 2012 with flights to Bucharest. This latest announcement signifies flydubai’s inaugural foray into the Baltic region, as it introduces direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania, expanding its network to over 100 underserved markets.

Flights to Chișinău International Airport (RMO) and Iași International Airport (IAS) will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB). The inaugural flights will launch on September 19, 2025. There will be two weekly flights to both Chișinău and Iași.

Flights to Vilnius International Airport (VNO) are scheduled to start on September 11, 2025, with three flights per week, while services to Riga International Airport (RIX) will commence on December 12, 2025, also operating three times weekly. Emirates, flydubai’s parent company, will codeshare on all four routes, providing passengers with over one hundred options for seamless connections via Dubai International Airport (DXB).

“The expansion of our network underscores our consistent commitment to providing essential services to underserved regions and fostering trade and tourism,” stated Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai. “With this addition to our flight offerings, we are set to further strengthen the UAE’s trade and cultural ties, establishing Dubai as a pivotal hub in the global aviation landscape.”

In addition, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, remarked, “Europe is a crucial market for flydubai. We are thrilled to diversify our network with these new routes to Chișinău, Iași, Riga, and Vilnius, which will provide passengers with enhanced travel experiences connecting seamlessly through our network and that of Emirates.”
