IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bird Strike on Route to Ranchi
Details of the Incident

Bird strikes are a known risk in aviation, particularly during the takeoff and landing phases, prompting airlines to conduct thorough inspections of affected aircraft before returning them to service.
This incident follows another recent occurrence in which an IndiGo flight (6E 6313) from Raipur to Delhi experienced turbulence caused by a dust storm, requiring the pilot to abort the landing just before touchdown at Delhi airport, according to ANI. The plane circled in the air until conditions became safer for landing, amidst wind speeds reaching up to 80 km/h. The aircraft successfully landed after maneuvering through several holding patterns.
Recent Flight Challenges
Additionally, two weeks prior, an IndiGo flight (6E 2142) traveling from Delhi to Srinagar with 227 passengers faced significant turbulence due to a hailstorm midair. The pilot declared an emergency and alerted Srinagar Air Traffic Control, successfully landing the aircraft at 6:30 PM as confirmed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). All passengers and crew were unharmed.
The airline subsequently classified the aircraft as “AOG” (Aircraft on Ground), denoting that it was grounded for technical inspections. Footage shared on social media showed the plane swaying while passengers offered religious prayers during the episode.
