SINGAPORE- Renowned as the World’s Best Carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ) has announced revisions to its Northern Winter 2025-26 flight schedules. These modifications include adjustments to aircraft types, route suspensions, and alterations to flight frequencies across various destinations.
These schedule changes will take effect from late October 2025 and continue through early March 2026. The goal is to maximize fleet efficiency while meeting the anticipated seasonal demand.
Significant route changes will impact cities such as Auckland (AKL), Frankfurt (FRA), London Heathrow (LHR), and Seoul Incheon (ICN), with many long-haul services experiencing updates either in aircraft type upgrades or downgrades.
As reported by Aeroroutes, these modifications indicate Singapore Airlines’ ongoing efforts to refine its global network for the upcoming winter period.
In the Northern Winter 2025-26 schedule, Singapore Airlines is implementing precise changes to better align operations with predicted travel patterns.
Beginning 18 January 2026, the Singapore–Auckland (AKL) route will see the SQ285/286 service upgraded to the Airbus A380, complementing the daily A350 and 777-300ER services on this route. This enhancement is in response to the high demand for this long-haul destination.
The direct service from Singapore to Barcelona (BCN) will be temporarily suspended from 3 February 2026 to 5 March 2026. Nonetheless, travelers can connect to Barcelona via the Singapore (SIN) – Milan Malpensa (MXP) – Barcelona (BCN) route, which will see an increase in frequency from three to five weekly flights using the A350-900 aircraft.
In Europe, significant changes will occur in Frankfurt (FRA), where nonstop services will expand from seven to thirteen weekly starting 18 January 2026, operated by the A350-900. Additionally, services SQ326/325 will transition from the A380 to the 777-300ER.
Service reductions will also affect London Heathrow (LHR) and Milan Malpensa (MXP) during February and March.
Aircraft Swaps and Suspensions
In its regional services, Singapore Airlines will implement changes in aircraft types and temporary suspensions to improve efficiency.
Starting 26 October 2025, the A350-900 will replace the originally scheduled 787-10 on the Singapore–Denpasar (DPS) and Singapore–Kuala Lumpur (KUL) routes. Similar upgrades are expected on services to Hong Kong (HKG) and Manila (MNL).
Several routes to South Korea will see temporary service suspensions, including the SQ612/611 to Seoul Incheon (ICN), which will be paused from 12 January to 8 February 2026. Additionally, SQ606/605 services will be suspended from 23 February to 13 March 2026, reducing the frequency to three daily flights.
Meanwhile, the seasonal SQ872/873 route to Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) will recommence on 2 February 2026 with four weekly A350-900 flights, thus increasing overall weekly service from fourteen to eighteen.
In Japan, services to Sapporo (CTS) are set to resume seasonally starting 30 November 2025, peaking at seven weekly flights by the end of the year.
International and Regional Route Optimizations
Singapore Airlines plans to deploy the A380 on the Singapore–Shanghai Pudong (PVG) route starting 1 February 2026, replacing the 777-300ER to accommodate increased demand.
Concurrently, the Christchurch (CHC) service will expand to eleven flights per week during peak season from 24 November 2025 through 13 February 2026.
The Singapore–Beijing Daxing (PKX) route will be suspended from 5 January to 1 February 2026, while select flights to Beijing Capital (PEK) will also be canceled in late 2025.
The frequency to Busan (PUS) will increase from four to six flights weekly beginning 28 October 2025, with a subsequent rise to daily flights starting 1 February 2026.
