Singapore Airlines Makes New Flight Schedule Changes for Winter 2025-26

SINGAPORE- Renowned as the World’s Best Carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ) has recently announced changes to its Northern Winter 2025-26 flight schedule. This includes modifications in aircraft assignments, suspensions of certain routes, and adjustments in flight frequencies across various destinations.

Effective from late October 2025 through early March 2026, these changes are intended to enhance fleet efficiency and cater to seasonal travel demands.

Significant adjustments impact major cities such as Auckland (AKL), Frankfurt (FRA), London Heathrow (LHR), and Seoul Incheon (ICN), with several long-haul routes experiencing upgrades or downgrades in aircraft types.

As reported by Aeroroutes, these changes signify the carrier’s ongoing efforts to refine its global operational network for winter 2025-26.

Singapore Airlines

In preparation for the Northern Winter 2025-26 season, Singapore Airlines is implementing targeted strategies to align its services with anticipated travel patterns.

Starting 18 January 2026, the Singapore–Auckland (AKL) route will see an upgrade for the SQ285/286 service to the Airbus A380, adding to the daily A350 and 777-300ER flights, increasing capacity on this high-demand long-haul route.

The nonstop service from Singapore to Barcelona (BCN) will be temporarily suspended from 3 February 2026 until 5 March 2026. However, passengers will still have options to reach Barcelona through a connecting route via Milan Malpensa (MXP), which will see an increase in frequency from 3 to 5 weekly flights using the A350-900.

In Europe, substantial changes are set for Frankfurt (FRA), where nonstop services will increase from 7 to 13 weekly starting on 18 January 2026. Flights will be operated by the A350-900, while the SQ326/325 services will transition from the A380 to the 777-300ER.

Additionally, London Heathrow (LHR) and Milan Malpensa (MXP) will experience temporary reductions in service during February and March.

Aircraft Swaps and Suspensions

To boost operational efficiency, Singapore Airlines is implementing changes in aircraft types and suspending certain services in regional operations.

Beginning 26 October 2025, A350-900 aircraft will replace the initially scheduled 787-10 on routes to Singapore–Denpasar (DPS) and Singapore–Kuala Lumpur (KUL), with similar adjustments occurring on flights to Hong Kong (HKG) and Manila (MNL).

Several routes to South Korea will see service suspensions, with the SQ612/611 to Seoul Incheon (ICN) paused from 12 January to 8 February 2026, and SQ606/605 suspended from 23 February to 13 March 2026, reducing Seoul frequencies from four daily to three.

Meanwhile, the Singapore–Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) seasonal service SQ872/873 will resume on 2 February 2026, operating four weekly A350-900 flights, thus increasing overall service from 14 to 18 weekly flights.

In Japan, seasonal flights to Sapporo (CTS) will recommence on 30 November 2025, reaching a peak of 7 weekly flights by year’s end.

International and Regional Route Optimizations

Singapore Airlines plans to utilize the A380 on the Singapore–Shanghai Pudong (PVG) route starting 1 February 2026, replacing the 777-300ER to accommodate increased passenger demand.

The service to Christchurch (CHC) will also expand to 11 weekly flights during the peak season, from 24 November 2025 to 13 February 2026.

The Singapore–Beijing Daxing (PKX) route will be temporarily suspended from 5 January to 1 February 2026, with select flights to Beijing Capital (PEK) also canceled towards the end of 2025.

Busan (PUS) will see an increase in frequency from four to six weekly flights starting 28 October 2025, rising to daily service from 1 February 2026.

In South Asia, Colombo (CMB) flights will be increased to 10 weekly, beginning 6 January 2026, with additional services operated by the A350-900 to enhance capacity in this growing market.
